Microsoft Lays Off Another 2,100 Employees
Microsoft is conducting a second round of layoffs today, after announced a plan to reduce its workforce by 18,000.
The second round of cuts is here. In July, Microsoft announced that it would lay off 14 percent of its workforce, or 18,000 employees, by June 30, 2015.
According to ZDNet, another 2,100 employees will get the pink slip today, and 747 of them are based in Washington state.
The first wave of layoffs eliminated 13,000 employees. The cuts are part of CEO Satya Nadella’s plan to make the tech giant “simplify and move faster, more efficiently.”
