The Dallas Cowboys may be America’s Team, but “Deflategate” helped propel the New England Patriots to the top of the ListenFirst Digital Engagement Rating for the National Football League from Aug. 9 through Sept. 4.

The Dallas Cowboys may be America’s Team, but “Deflategate” helped propel the New England Patriots to the top of the ListenFirst Digital Engagement Rating for the National Football League from Aug. 9 through Sept. 4.

ListenFirst Media said its DER aggregates daily engagements from Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Wikipedia and YouTube.

Instagram received much of the credit for the strong performance by the Patriots, with ListenFirst saying in an email to SocialTimes that a Sept. 3 photo of quarterback Tom Brady, with no caption, on the day Brady’s four-game suspension was overturned by a judge, tallied more than 100,000 engagements in 24 hours.
