Facebook acquired the domain Instachecker.com through Internet brand-protection company MarkMonitor, but the URL does not currently resolve to a website, according to a report by Fusible.
Facebook acquired the domain Instachecker.com through Internet brand-protection company MarkMonitor, but the URL does not currently resolve to a website, according to a report by Fusible.
According to Fusible, Instachecker.com was first registered in late May 2012, but the previous owner of the domain used privacy service Whois, so no details are available on the price the social network paid for the URL.
Fusible speculated that Facebook purchased the domain merely to protect its Instagram photo-sharing application, noting that Instachecker.net,
