Four New York High Schools to Launch Kindle Pilot Programs

The Syracuse Post-Standard reports that 4 high schools in central New York state will be testing the Kindle this fall.

Three schools in Onondaga County and another school in Madison County will be sharing a grant from the Central New York Community Foundation. This grant is going be used to pay for 84 Kindles, teacher training, and other expenses of the 8-Ounce Backpack Project.

“We are really excited,” said Tully Superintendent Kraig Pritts. “What we will do with them probably won’t even touch the possibilities they offer.”

With only 84 Kindles funded, it looks like just a single English class will be testing it at each school.
