Facebook now has its own Siri — within Messenger.
Announced by Facebook’s vice president of messaging products David Marcus, Facebook Messenger’s M is a mobile personal assistant currently being tested by the company. M can handle tasks such as recommend a good restaurant nearby or shop for items.
Speculation first surfaced last month about a virtual digital assistant for Messenger geared toward shopping, code-named Moneypenny.
Marcus announced M in a Facebook post, but didn’t say when it would be more widely available:
Unlike other AI-based services in the market, M can actually complete tasks on your behalf.
