Facebook Opens Office For Central, Eastern Europe In Warsaw, Poland

Facebook chose Warsaw, Poland, as the site of its new offices for central and Eastern Europe, opening its doors Thursday and covering 30 countries and some 46 million users, according to reports.

ZDNet reported that the Warsaw office will lighten the load of the social network’s European headquarters in Dublin, adding that Facebook has about 9 million users in Poland.

Diego Oliva, Facebook’s regional director for southern, central, and Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East and Africa, will initially lead the new office, ZDNet reported.

According to ZDNet, Facebook created a Careers page for Warsaw earlier this month, and the social network’s new office are located at the Zlote Tarasy mall and office center, next to the capital city’s main railroad station.
