B&N Now Recruiting Developers for NookColor Apps

Barnes & Noble has decided to put the growth of the NookColor into high gear. It sent out an email today, inviting developers (who had signed up for the mailing list) to sign up for the Nook App Store and start submitting apps.

The apps will have the usual revenue split – 70 percent to the developer, 30 percent to B&N. There is going to  be free and paid apps as well as free trials. Apps will need approval from B&N before being listed in the store.

B&N will also be providing developers access to a number of tools and resources, including:

  • Access to “Developer Mode” services, which will enable adb (Android Debugging Bridge) access on NOOK Color to facilitate application development and debugging
  • Public and private interaction with other developers and NOOK App Developer technical experts
  • Early access to development tools, APIs, resources and services
