Amazon Opens Kindle Store In Brazil

Amazon has launched the Kindle Store in Brazil. The new digital book store launches with more than 1.4 million books available to Brazilian customers. This includes more than 13,000 Portuguese-language books. Works include titles from Brazilian authors like Jorge Amado, Lya Luft and Martha Medeiros, as well as Kindle eBook exclusives such as the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and 13 titles by Paulo Coelho.

In addition, Amazon will begin selling Kindle eReader devices in the country in the coming weeks for R$299.
