2016 Shorty Award Winners

This year the Shorty Awards recognized native social influencers on Vine, Snapchat, Periscope, Instagram and YouTube.

The 2016 Shorty Awards winners were announced last week, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Taraji P. Henson, Misty Copeland and Troye Sivan earning top awards for internet influence in their respective trades. However, while there are plenty of celebrity influencers, the Shorty Awards recognized native social influencers on Vine, Snapchat, Periscope, Instagram and YouTube.

DJ Khaled won Snapchatter of the Year for his outrageous and infinitely meme-worthy inspiration. Khaled has amassed more than 20 million followers on Snapchat, and he was also named one of Time’s most influential people on the internet.

87-year-old Baddie Winkle won Instagrammer of the Year in the Creative and Design category.
