Even though opportunities to travel have been scant for the past year due to the pandemic, travel engagement is at an all-time high on Pinterest.
The platform said travel searches were up 60% in 2020 compared with 2019, and its travel audience grew 40% over the same time period, adding that GlobalWebIndex found that seven out of 10 people are planning a vacation this year.
Pinterest shared some insights on three travel personas that have seen rapid growth over the past year.
Pinterest described this group as people who are seeking places where they can spread out over plenty of space, such as Oregon and Vermont, along with small-town gems that offer character and quaint shopping options.
