Twitter is experimenting with ways to monetize Fleets, the Snapchat-like disappearing tweets it introduced last November.
The social network said Tuesday that it will begin testing Fleet ads, which are full-screen vertical ads—the very first on Twitter—to appear between Fleets.
The potential audience size for these new ad units is unclear, as Twitter would not share any data on how many people are using Fleets. A spokesperson would only say, “We’re continuing to invest in Fleets and give people more options to express themselves on this new surface.”
