T-Mobile is urging people to take a different approach this April Fools’ Day and #GiveThanksNotPranks.

Starting Monday and running through April 1, the wireless carrier’s customers and social fans can help get students and teachers the crucial school supplies they need—crayons, notebooks, paper, pens—by:

  • Donating via nonprofit education crowdfunding platform DonorsChoose, with T-Mobile matching individual donations up to $500,000.
  • Share stories about people who have gone the extra mile on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the #GiveThanksNotPranks hashtag.
