Snickers, BBDO New York and The Hive, Snickers parent Mars Wrigley’s social media and digital content studio ,couldn’t pass up the opportunity presented by Aug. 3 being both Grab Some Nuts Day and the final day for Twitter’s Fleets disappearing tweets feature.
They set out to make Snickers the last brand to use Fleets before the feature went defunct, using the disappearing tweets to promote a sweepstakes in which people could win free boxes of Snickers, but timing it so that Fleets were deactivated just after the final Fleet was posted, so the sweepstakes never actually went live.
