Anne Laurenson joined Snap Inc. as its first managing director of global carrier partnerships, and she will be the first executive to lead one of the company’s global teams, including the Americas, from outside of the U.S.
Laurenson will be based in Paris and report to managing director, international markets and mobile partnerships Nana Murugesan, leading the company’s carrier partnerships strategy across Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the U.S.
She had been with Google for the past 14 years, driving the growth of its Android platform for 10 of them, and Laurenson’s most recent role was managing director for Android partnerships for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, responsible for growing the adoption of the Android ecosystem and Google services through partnerships with carriers, retailers and smartphone manufacturers.
Overall, Laurenson has more than 20 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries.
