Meta updated its policies to allow for the promotion and sale of Covid-19 test kits.
The company said in an updated Newsroom post that legitimate businesses can now sell and promote these products, but peer-to-peer sales will continue to be prohibited.
Meta explained, “We recognize that access to these tests continues to be a challenge in some regions, and we are monitoring for the latest guidance from governments and health authorities on any changes in the availability and supply of these products that may necessitate further updates to our policy.”
The move Wednesday follows a similar update last month to lift the ban on advertising medical masks that was imposed when the pandemic began in March 2020.
