Meta provided an update on its business messaging efforts across Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp during its fourth-quarter-2021 earnings call Wednesday evening.
The company said more than 1 billion people connect with business accounts across its messaging services each week, adding that for WhatsApp specifically, over 150 million people view a catalog from a business on the application every month.
Meta detailed updates to its business messaging tools that have been implemented in recent months.
At the F8 Refresh developers event last June, WhatsApp head of business products Ajit Varma said the types of messages users could choose to receive from businesses was expanded to include updates such as reminders when items they expressed interest in were back in stock or information about Covid-19 vaccines.
