Loyalty program Marriott Bonvoy teamed up with Pinterest on a pilot and personalized experience at two storefronts in New York’s Soho area that guides Pinners through an immersive in-application quiz.
They are asked four questions to determine their preferences on destinations, experiences and travel styles, after which a personalized board is created, giving Pinners the tools and links that they need to book their dream trip via Marriott Bonvoy and its portfolio of 30 brands.
The initiative follows Marriott Bonvoy’s global “Power of Travel” campaign, which was the first to employ Pinterest’s technology and real-time trends in an out of home placement.
Searches for travel on Pinterest were up 60% in 2020 compared with 2019, and Pinterest said Pinners plan to spend 20% more on travel this year than non-Pinners, adding that searches for beach travel outfit are up 584% year over year and family reunion queries saw a 48% bump up, while...
