Some entrepreneurs are inspired to create a business because they see where lots of money and attention are being spent, and they want in on the action.
For Natalie White, though, the motivation to create footwear brand Moolah Kicks came from seeing first-hand one area where a large number of people were being denied both funding and respect: women’s basketball.
“When you’re little and you see the tickets to your game are half-price, you’re wearing the boys’ hand-me-down uniforms—you just ask why,” says White, who describes her brand as one “built by and for women’s basketball players.”
White’s story—and the role technology plays in her bootstrapped business—is told in a new spot for Microsoft’s Windows 11.
