Google kicked off a video campaign Monday, primarily on TikTok and YouTube, aimed at getting Generation Z to think critically about “information” they discover on the internet and to use its tools in doing so.
The company described “Let’s Internet Better” as a call to action for Gen Z to use its search tools to verify information, and it said the videos embody that age group’s aesthetics, humor and tone.
The 15-second videos on YouTube are joined by content from TikTok creators such as @hankgreen, @lexdelvalle, @matttheperson and @officiallytonytoks with tips on how to perform a reverse image search, safely share information and verify information.
Google will post content on TikTok featuring live-action talent narrating how-to scenarios such as reverse-image-searching a walking tree that appears in the feed.
