YouTube Receives Content-Level Brand Safety Accreditation From Media Rating Council

The Google-owned video site is the first digital platform to achieve this

YouTube Tuesday became the first digital platform to receive accreditation for content-level brand safety from the Media Rating Council.

Debbie Weinstein, vice president of YouTube and video global solutions, said in a blog post that the Google-owned video site’s multiyear commitment to investing in policy development, staffing and technology led to the accreditation, which followed an extensive audit of the policies that determine which videos can remain on YouTube and which are eligible for monetization.

She credited the combination of automated systems that analyze videos that are uploaded to YouTube and human content raters that augment the technology’s work.
