TikTok detailed several initiatives in recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The video-creation platform is releasing a series of videos on its TikTok Tips account in which employees—including members of its global security team—guide users on topics such as how to create complex passwords and using password managers to secure their accounts.

These public-service announcements will continue to be produced through the end of the year.

TikTok is also teaming up with HackerOne to expand its existing vulnerability disclosure policy into a global public bug bounty program.

Global security business operations and portfolio lead Luna Wu explained in a blog post, “This partnership will help us to gain insight from the world’s top security researchers, academic scholars and independent experts to better uncover potential threats and make our security defenses even stronger. As always, we appreciate security researchers who take the time to analyze our platform, and we encourage them to submit their reports so that we can build better defenses.”

She concluded, “Security is constantly evolving, and our team is committed to meeting the challenge head-on. We will continue to build a safe and secure application for the TikTok community by investing in technology, people and partnerships.”
