Facebook said in an updated Newsroom post Monday that the pre-emptive iOS 14 prompts it detailed in February are now rolling out, as Apple iOS 14.5 began rolling out to iPhone users Monday.

iPhone users with Facebook and/or Instagram installed on their devices will start seeing a popup prompt from Apple that gives them the option of whether or not to allow those applications to track them across apps and websites owned by other companies.

Facebook’s popup message will accompany the Apple prompt and provide further information on why and how the social network uses people’s app and website activity.

The social network said in its updated Newsroom post, “As Apple has said that providing additional context is allowed, we will show an educational screen before presenting Apple’s prompt to help people make an informed decision about how their information is used.
