Ad-tech firms DoubleVerify and Integral Ad Science were subpoenaed by lawyers representing Elon Musk in his defense against a lawsuit by Twitter regarding his aborted $44 billion takeover bid for the company.

Advertisers use technology from DoubleVerify and IAS to ensure that their ads are being viewed by actual people and not bots, and Musk’s lawyers are seeking any communications or documents from the two companies related to auditing Twitter’s user base or reviewing accounts.

The five-day trial is set to begin Oct.
