Starbucks Brewing Up Drama Over Its Red Holiday Cups

Anyone know if Solo is pissed about its red cup design being stolen?

Last year, Starbucks brought its classic cups of Yuletide cheer to the U.S. consumer with a wintry design that included reindeer, the random Christmas tree, and even lights. All of that decorating a bright red cup.

It was classic. It was timely. And now, it’s gone.

As you can see from Starbucks’ Facebook page, it’s red. That’s it. No design. No Santa. No Christmas allusion. Just red. As if opening on Thanksgiving Day was bad enough, ultra-conservative Christians don’t take too kindly to this decision.

“In the past, we have told stories with our holiday cups designs,” Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks vice president of Design & Content, said in a statement.
