Adweek Announces Leading Events Strategist Danny Wright as Managing Partner

Wright will lead the newly created Awards, Honors & Events group, includingthe inaugural Ignite networking experience this fall

New York (August 16, 2017) — Adweek, LLC, the premier resource for marketers, today announced the appointment of Danny Wright as managing partner, overseeing Adweek’s newly created Awards, Honors & Events group, effective immediately.

Wright is charged with growing Adweek’s global event business, which currently includes the annual Women in Media & Sports summit, Brand Genius, Adweek’s prestigious award gala honoring the industry’s most innovative campaigns and City Spotlight, which celebrates individual cities across the US and honors their top marketers at an exclusive VIP event.

Wright has already begun laying the groundwork for new industry-leading, must-attend events, including the rollout of Adweek’s Ignite franchise – an exclusive, first-class networking experience where CMOs and high-level agency executives interact with innovative technology companies to learn about and broker solution-oriented deals in markets across the country. The inaugural event will take place in Cincinnati on Oct. 9-11, followed by an event in Las Vegas on Nov. 27-29. Also launching this year is Adweek’s new series Elevate. Each Elevate event will showcase a full day of thought leadership and networking. The first in the series is Elevate: Publishing launching on November 1 in NYC and features the best minds in the publishing industry.

Wright has extensive experience in the events and music business, with more than 20 years of leading sales and business development teams and executing high revenue deals. Until recently,Wright was a senior vice president at Stillwell Partners, where for seven years he helped grow New York’s Advertising Week Conference as well as launch Advertising Week Europe in London,Advertising Week Asia in Tokyo and Advertising Week LatAm in Mexico City. Prior to Stillwell Partners, he formed his own San Francisco-based consultancy, Done Wright, which led to senior business development roles at upstart technology companies such as Photobucket and IMVU. He began his career in marketing and promotion, rising through the ranks at several New York-based record labels, including Universal Music, Columbia Records and Arista Records while working for some of the industry’s brightest stars including, Aerosmith, Mariah Carey, Lauren Hill, Run DMC and The Fugees.
