Yahoo President and CEO Marissa Mayer announced plans to tighten her company’s focus on mobile applications and align it more closely with Facebook while speaking at an investors’ conference in San Francisco Tuesday hosted by Goldman Sachs.

Bloomberg reported that Mayer said Yahoo would whittle down its focus from the 75 or so mobile apps the company currently offers to “the dozen or so applications that people use all the time on their phones,” adding that a key component of Yahoo’s future plans is enhancing its social features.
