Wyclef Jean Chimes In on Google’s #BlackOwnedFriday Efforts

The tech giant is working with U.S. Black Chambers, BBH New York

Efforts to promote #BlackOwnedFriday Nov. 27 by Google, U.S. Black Chambers and creative agency BBH New York received a huge boost from Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean.

BlackOwnedFriday kicked off as a social-first campaign in mid-October with the goal of telling the stories of Black-owned businesses, providing information on available resources from Google and U.S. Black Chambers’ ByBlack directory and encouraging people to share their favorite Black-owned businesses via their social accounts.

BBH New York also created #BlackOwnedFriday assets that are available on Google’s and Google Small Business’ social media channels.

Jean wrote and performed an animated anthem jingle to back the campaign, and he released another animated jingle Monday to support his favorite Black-owned business, Vibez Juice & Vegan Cafe in Jersey City, N.J.
