Mark Robinson (pictured) accomplished many things during his first stint with Wired, but only one of those led to a permanent record in the Oxford English Dictionary. In 2005, together with writer Jeff Howe, he coined the term “crowdsourcing,” which was added to the dictionary in 2013.

Robinson left Wired in 2015 for Epic magazine, but per an announcement today, is returning as features editor. He starts May 8 alongside another big hire, senior writer Nitasha Tiku.
