Twitter is taking to the ice with #HockeyTwitter, a new content series and batch of features for fans of the National Hockey League.

The social network introduced #HockeyTwitter with this video featuring superfan Jay Baruchel and several NHL players.

Including #HockeyTwitter in a tweet also generates a hashtag-triggered emoji.

Finally, Twitter introduced “follow packs,” enabling fans to follow lists of NHL superstars and the sport’s top commentators with one click.

Twitter said the most-mentioned teams thus far in the 2018-19 NHL season are:

  1. Toronto Maple Leafs
  2. Pittsburgh Penguins
  3. Vegas Golden Knights
  4. Chicago Blackhawks
  5. Montreal Canadiens
  6. Buffalo Sabres
  7. Philadelphia Flyers
  8. Washington Capitals
  9. Boston Bruins
  10. New York Rangers

And the most-mentioned players are:

  1. Auston Matthews, Maple Leafs
  2. Elias Pettersson, Vancouver Canucks
  3. John Tavares, Maple Leafs
