WhatsApp Makes a Change to Its Privacy Setting for Groups

Nobody was replaced by My Contacts Except

WhatsApp revealed a tweak to the privacy settings for groups that it originally introduced in April.

The Facebook-owned messaging application rolled out features in April with the aim of helping users avoid being added to spam groups, and it said at the time that users could go their settings menu and tap Account, Privacy and Groups, where they can choose between Nobody, My Contacts or Everyone.

In an update to the original blog post from April, WhatsApp said it replaced the Nobody option with a My Contacts Except option, based on feedback from users.

The new option enables people to exclude specific contacts or select all, and it began rolling out globally this week on the latest version of the app.
