WhatsApp Tops 900 Million Monthly Active Users
The Facebook-owned cross-platform messaging application reached 800 million MAUs in April, 700 million MAUs and 30 billion messages per day in January and 500 million MAUs in April 2014.
WhatsApp reached a milestone this week, topping 900 million monthly active users.
The Facebook-owned cross-platform messaging application reached 800 million MAUs in April, 700 million MAUs and 30 billion messages per day in January and 500 million MAUs in April 2014.
WhatsApp co-founder and Facebook board member Jan Koum broke the news in a Facebook post, simply stating:
WhatsApp now has 900 million monthly active users.
Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg then chimed in:
Congrats to Jan, the WhatsApp team and whole community on reaching 900 million people!
And chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg shared a humorous photo of her and Koum, along with her congratulations:
900 million people now use WhatsApp every month to stay in touch with family and friends around the world.
