The social network’s Twitter From Home Trend Report also shared data on emoji use

Twitter released its Twitter From Home Trend Report Tuesday, detailing the most-tweeted-about emojis, foods, hobbies, movies, musicians, television shows and travel destinations in the roughly six months since the U.S. began its coronavirus-induced quarantine.

The social network said in an email, “We’ve spent almost six full months in quarantine—so what were people listening to, watching, doing and talking about to stay connected and entertained?

Covid-19 caused use of some emojis to skyrocket, while others plunged.

Huge gains were seen by microbe (up 1,662% year-over-year), toilet paper (475%) and soap (100%), while the haircut emoji slipped 32% (beard rose 102%) and selfie fell 32%.
