Video: Lime Hosts an Electric Scooter Pop-Up to Show New Yorkers What They’re Missing

The company already has dockless e-bikes in NYC

Whether New Yorkers are ready for them or not, e-scooters may be coming to the streets of the Big Apple.

That’s why Lime, an e-scooter and e-bike company, hosted a two-day pop-up event in New York on Jan. 25 and 26. The “Lime-S Winter Warmer Pop-Up” in midtown Manhattan gave people a chance to ride a scooter (indoors and with a helmet). Lime rolled out an updated model, the Lime 3.0 Scooter, for the event. Created for a city like New York, the new scooter has bigger wheels, two different ways to brake, a “mountain bike suspension system” and a screen that lets riders know how fast they’re going, as well as other information like whether the scooter is parked well.

Lime already has a presence in New York, but only with its dockless e-bike system, which rolled out in the Rockaways and Staten Island in July.
