'Cloud Atlas' Author David Mitchell Is Tweeting A New Short Story Right Now

Novelist David Mitchell, the award-winning author of Cloud Atlas, is tweeting a new short story set in the universe of his upcoming book, Bone Clock.

Following the experiences of a boy tripping on his mother’s Valium, the short story, dubbed “The Right Sort” is being tweeted from @David_Mitchell in short bursts. Every day at 7am and 5pm for the next week Mitchell will send a 20-tweet burst to add to the story.

As The Guardian reports, Mitchell explains that The Right Sort follows a boy who likes taking Valium to deal with the world because it “reduces the bruising hurly-burly of the world into orderly, bite-sized ‘pulses'” – much the same way that Twitter reduces thought to short 140-character “pulses”.
