Unpinned: President Tim Kendall Is Leaving Pinterest

Kendall will be succeeded by senior vp for ads and commerce Jon Alferness

Big changes are coming to Pinterest’s top leadership, as president Tim Kendall will step down at year-end and be succeeded by senior vice president for ads and commerce Jon Alferness.

Kendall is leaving Pinterest to launch is own company, in the healthcare industry.

He joined Pinterest as head of product in March 2012 and was promoted to president in March 2015.

Prior to Pinterest, Kendall served as director of monetization for Facebook for nearly five years.

Alferness has only been with the social network since July, after spending almost 13 years with Google, most recently as vp of product management for the search engine giant’s shopping and travel products.
