Reuters Reaffirms Its Commitment to Company's 'Trust Principles'

New footnote links to one of journalism's most vaunted professional edicts

There are five of them in all, starting with the premise ‘That Thomson Reuters shall at no time pass into the hands of any one interest, group or faction.’ The edicts were created in 1941 in partnership with shareholders and the Newspaper Publishers Association.

This week, Reuters announced that it will be linking at the bottom of each online article to those principles, as well as when the occasion befits, offering a backstory of how a particular item was reported.
