Snap Inc. already introduced ways for Snapchat users to share Stories outside of the application, and off-platform sharing of other Snapchat content is now being tested, as well.
The company confirmed a report by Sara Fischer of Axios that Snapchat is testing ways for its users to share Our Stories, Publisher Stories, Snap Originals and Shows via sharable links through email, iMessage and other social platforms. Content from “Snap Stars” and public users is included.
When clicked, the links will bring users to the Snapchat app or to a web or mobile web-viewing experience, Fischer reported, adding that all content will continue to be hosted on Snap’s servers and streamed via Snapchat’s online media player.
The Snap spokesperson said, “We’re always exploring ways to make it even easier to view Snapchat’s engaging and topical content and share it with your friends.”
