Snap Inc. Poaches YouTube Creator Talent Exec Francis Roberts

He joins Snapchat’s parent as senior manager of digital talent

The person charged with fostering top talent at YouTube is taking those skills to Snap Inc., where he’ll also work with creators.

Francis Roberts spent the last eight years at YouTube and parent company Google, and most recently as strategic partner manager for top creators. He will join Snap as its senior manager of digital talent, reporting to Jim Shepherd, head of talent partnerships.

He will also support content opportunities for creators, such as Creator Shows and Snap Originals, as well as community content including Snap Me, in which creators answer Snapchatters’ questions in segments produced by the platform’s team of editors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Francis as a member of our talent partnerships team,” Shepherd said in an email.
