Pinterest Propel Spurred a 50 Percent Rise in Small Business Advertisers in Its First Year

The Promote button is being made available in five more countries

Pinterest celebrated the one-year anniversary of the debut of its Pinterest Propel program for businesses and agencies that are new to its network by announcing the hire of a new global head of small business.

Pinterest Propel debuted last year with the goal of providing guidance and support to businesses and agencies in the U.S. and Canada that were new to advertising on the social network.

Head of global sales Jon Kaplan announced in a blog post that Pinterest has seen a 50 percent year-over-year increase in small business advertisers since launching Pinterest Propel, adding that businesses in the program are tallying up to three times more clicks and 15 percent lower costs per click within the first 90 days than non-Propel brands.

He also revealed that the Promote button—which enables advertisers to easily turn their Pins into Promoted Pins—will be made available to business accounts in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the U.K.,
