Pinterest Adds Several New Ways for Pinners to Shop

It can now easily be done via Pins, boards, search and browseable style guides

Pinterest released several new shopping features Tuesday aimed at enabling retailers of all sizes—particularly small businesses—get their products in front of potential customers who are shopping from home due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Searches for “helping small business” are up three times compared with two weeks ago, and Pinterest said the number of shoppable Product Pins on its platform is up 2.5 times year-over-year, driving a 2.3 times increase in traffic to retailers.

The total number of Pinners engaging with shopping on Pinterest is up 44% compared with this time last year, the company added.

A new shop tab was added to Pinterest’s search experience, enabling users to shop for in-stock products from a range of retailers when searching for terms such as “spring outfits,” “office décor” or “kitchen remodel.”
