Facebook has received a lot of the blame, or credit, for the results of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, but how many voters actually relied on the social network as a news source?

Pew Research Center surveyed 4,183 U.S. adults between Nov. 29 and Dec. 12, and it found that 8 percent of them cited Facebook as their main source for election news, trailing Fox News at 19 percent and CNN at 13 percent.

Other findings by Pew included:

  • 40 percent of respondents who supported President-elect Donald Trump cited Fox News as their main source for election news, blowing away second-place CNN, at 8 percent.
