NPR Adds Keith Jenkins as Director of Visual Journalism
He returns to NPR, from National Geographic
Keith Jenkins is returning to NPR to serve as the organization’s first director of visual journalism, announced Sara Goo, interim managing editor of digital news, and Anya Grundmann, vp of programming and audience development, in a statement.
Jenkins’ first stint at NPR ended in 2013, when he left his role as supervising senior producer, multimedia, to join National Geographic, initially as director of photography, digital. A series of promotions followed, described early on by Kenneth Irby in Poynter as a “meteoric ascension,” leading to Jenkins’ most recent NatGeo role as digital general manager of the National Geographic Society.
