'The New York Times' Is Still Hungry for Tina Brown

The celebrity editor is back in the news . . . But why?

Old habits die hard at The New York Times. The paper has devoted another 5,000 words to Tina Brown, noted media darling, in this Sunday’s Magazine. That’s on the heels of a 2,000-word piece that ran in the paper’s business section in February. All this for the editor of a magazine that, everyone admits, is struggling to survive.

“While Newsweek is bruised and limping, it can still lay claim to a position on the main playing field of American journalism,” the Times’ Peter Stevenson writes in Sunday’s profile.
