Which countries performed the strongest in Facebook advertising from Jan. 1 through April 30? Social marketing platform Nanigans, a Facebook Marketing Partner, has the answers.

Nanigans studied all Facebook campaigns run through its platform during that time period, as well as country-by-country user totals from Facebook’s application-programming interface, and its findings included:

  • 56 percent of residents in Spanish-speaking South American countries Uruguay and Argentina have Facebook accounts.
  • Iceland boasts the highest penetration rate, 67 percent.
  • The most expensive costs per click were in the U.K.,
