Mobile Game Roundup: Vertigo Racing, Head of State and More

Are you looking for a new mobile game to play this weekend? There are lots of new games available for you to try, including Monster Super League from Four Thirty Three Inc. The monster collection and battling game allows users to collect and battle creatures called Astromon as they work to save the world of Latecia from the forces of chaos. In addition, Disney released Disney Enchanted Tales this week. The kingdom-building game allows users to create kingdoms using buildings from Beauty and the Beast, Frozen and Tangled. If you're looking for something different to play, here's a look at some of the additional mobile games that were released this week. Vertigo Racing (Free on iOS, Android) - This racing game from Chillingo and Deep Byte Studios challenges players to race along roller coaster-style courses without ruining their cars or running out of gas. During each race, players can tap and hold on the gas button to accelerate, and their cars will automatically turn around corners. Users can let go of the gas button or use the brake button to help their cars turn safely. Fuel is consumed automatically during each race, and players can earn more fuel by reaching gas stations along the path. Users can collect coins as they play, which can be spent on car upgrades that can increase a car's speed, acceleration and more. Users can unlock more cars as they complete in-game cups. ISOLAND ($0.99 on iOS) - This point-and-click adventure game from RedFish Game Studio challenges players to escape from a mysterious island in the Atlantic Ocean called Isoland. Players will need to solve puzzles as they progress through the game, and they can use tips if they need help completing puzzles. Star Crusade: War for the Expanse (Free on iOS) - This collectible card game from ZiMAD allows players to take control of six different factions, which are all trying to take over the galaxy. The game includes more than 400 playable cards, and it allows users to create decks containing 25 to 40 cards each. The number of cards players have in their decks determines their starting health in battle. During each card battle, players can spend a limited number of supply points on each turn to deploy units to the battlefield or activate abilities and modules. Modules may allow users to deploy extra units to the battlefield, or they may give a unit the ability to attack a second time on a single turn, as examples. As users destroy enemy cards, they'll earn energy, which can be used to activate special modules during battle. In addition to playing multiplayer battles against other real players, users can compete in practice matches against artificial intelligence opponents. Mini Warriors: Three Kingdoms (Free on iOS) - This strategy game from Triniti Interactive Studios is set during China's Three Kingdoms period, and it allows users to compete in battles with 2,000 miniature soldiers fighting on the screen at one time. Before each battle, players can deploy up to 25 heroes to command their troops. Heroes come in multiple types, including cavalry, infantry, archer, spearman, plotter and armored archer. In between battles, players can build kingdoms by collecting and spending resources like wood and coins. Gamers can construct a variety of buildings in their kingdoms, including resource production and storage buildings and a barracks that allows them to upgrade their troops. In addition to competing against computer-controlled armies, users can take their armies into battles against other players. Political Run - Presidential Election (Free on iOS) - This multiplayer trivia game from Avalanche Mountain Apps is themed after the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and it allows users to play as either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Users are challenged to help their candidates earn electoral votes in each state by correctly answering multiple-choice trivia questions across five different categories: U.S. History, State History, Candidates, Geography and Foreign Policy. In each game, users can challenge a friend or a random opponent to answer questions, and the player who answers the most questions correctly will win. During each game, players can use power-ups to help them answer questions. These power-ups include a 50/50 button, which removes two wrong answers from a question, and a double-check button, which allows users to double-check an answer before moving on, among others. Piggy Boom (Free on iOS, Android) - This prize wheel game from Rafotech allows users to conquer a series of islands in the sky by collecting money on a prize wheel. Users start with a supply of free spins, and they'll earn more spins automatically over time. With each spin of the prize wheel, users can win instant prizes including money and extra spins. Users can also land on attack, steal and shield wedges. When a user lands on the attack or steal wedges, they'll be able to attack another player's island or steal from another player's island to receive extra money, respectively. Meanwhile, when a user lands on the shield wedge, a shield will be added to a portion of their island, which will protect it from an enemy attack. As users collect money, they can spend it on upgrades for their islands. Head of State ($1.99 on iOS, Android) - This political simulation game from developer Edward Biden allows users to work their way through the political ranks until they become the leader of the land. While playing, users will collect influence they can spend on policies that are split into categories like liberal and conservative. Users will also be able to form ties with groups like the Police. Finally, the game will present users with random events that can change their campaigns. In addition to these new releases, here are some of the previously released mobile games that have come to new platforms. Brasingo from Caleta Gaming - Free on iOS; previously released for free on Android. The game is also available to play for free on Facebook. Badland 2 from Cheetah Mobile and Frogmind - Free on Android; previously released on iOS ($3.99).
