MeezNation Brings 3D Chat and Avatar Gaming To Android and iPhone

Social entertainment platform provider Meez has officially announced the extension of its service on iOS and Android enabled devices. This includes iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphone and tablet platforms and will eventually branch out other services. Meez's service, MeezNation, will be soon available through Android Market and the iTunes App Store. Aimed at a PG-13 audience, the social world features 3D chat, games, media sharing, user profile pages, avatar creation tools, messaging inbox, activity feeds, status updates, storefront and virtual items. "We've seen tremendous success to date in delivering a compelling social entertainment and gaming experience supported by a rich layer of monetization tools," said John Cahill, CEO of Meez.Â "MeezNation is the first step in directly addressing how users are accessing content, games and brands - from anywhere and on any device.Â We look forward to expanding the number of platforms we reach Meez users with and to giving game developers more access to Meez users, wherever they are." MeezNation will also be providing game Flash, Unity and Java developers access to their API in which players can select their own avatars as in-game heroes and challenge their friends. With over 203 minutes per month spent by the average player, Meez should be able to attract a variety of developers to their burgeoning platform that is readily monetizing with virtual items, VIP subscriptions, in-world advertising and brand sponsorship. MeezNation is also set to debut on GoogleTV and Xbox Live in addition to its current Facebook and MySpace integrations, making it the first multi-platform community of its kind. In 2009 Meez launched an initiative deemed Currency Connect that lets users exchange virtual currency between participating virtual economies guided by a currency exchange rate. This allowed Meez users to trade Meez Coinz Cards for myYearbook Lunch Money and vice versa. Meez also partnered with VZNet to bring its social entertainment platform to VZNet's 17 million members back in September of 2010. Meez also announced the launch of two custom branded boutiques for popular CW television shows, Gossip Girl and the Vampire Diaries. In partnership with Virtual Greats and the CW, Meez will launch virtual goods ranging from branded clothing assets, iconic jewelry pieces, and branded backgrounds. The boutiques will launch once the shows premiere, Gossip girl on Monday, January 24 and Vampire Diaries on Thursday, January 27.
