Matt Murray to Replace Gerard Baker as The Wall Street Journal's EIC

His criticism of the WSJ's Trump coverage riled some in the newsroom

After more than five years in the position, Gerard Baker is out as editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, the company announced Tuesday.

He will be replaced by Matt Murray, currently WSJ’s executive editor. Baker will become the Journal’s editor-at-large, where he’ll write a column in the paper’s weekend section and host a WSJ-branded news and interview show on Fox Business Network.
