LinkedIn announced that it is updating its privacy policy and user agreement June 7, and vice president of legal, intellectual property, product and privacy Sara Harrington provided a preview of the changes in a blog post.
Harrington said that despite its acquisition by Microsoft—which was announced last June and officially closed last December—LinkedIn operates under a separate terms of service.
She detailed the upcoming updates to LinkedIn’s privacy policy:
- Increased visibility of your LinkedIn profile: Similar to the way your profile shows up in search engines, we will allow certain third-party services to show your profile to their users, so that you can be more easily found for opportunities and connect with people.
