YouTube marked LGBTQ Pride Month in June by announcing that all-time viewership of LGBTQ content on the Google-owned video site topped 7 billion views from nearly 30,000 channels.
Video advertising technology company Pixability used its proprietary software to mine data from the YouTube Insights API (application-programming interface) in a study conducted for YouTube, and it found that:
- Based on aggregate likes and dislikes, LGBTQ content receives a positive reaction of nearly 95 percent, and the content was boosted by 15 million Facebook shares.
