Is Twitter Working on a Way for Users to Request Verification?

Twitter has not had a formal way for users to apply for verification since November 2017. Is that about to change?

Developer and blogger Jane Manchun Wong shared a screenshot of Twitter’s settings, which included an option for “Request Verification,” in a tweet.

Twitter confirmed the test but would not share any further details.

The social network suspended its verification process in November 2017 after coming under fire for verifying Jason Kessler, who organized a neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Va.,
